Scott James is a fourth-generation Colorado native raised in LaSalle who holds degrees from Northeastern Junior College, Aims Community College and Colorado State University, per the county's official biography. He spent 36 years as a radio personality before joining the Weld County Board of County Commissioners, and previously served on Johnstown's Planning and Zoning Commission and Town Council before being elected Johnstown mayor in 2016. He represents District 2 and currently chairs the board.
