Delain won the Republican nomination with 18,111 of 18,160 votes cast (99.7 percent, remainder scattered write-ins), per the Brown County Board of Canvassers' certified County Canvass Statement dated August 17, 2026. No named candidate appeared on the Democratic, Constitution, Libertarian or Wisconsin Green primary ballot lines for this office; each of those lines' entire vote total (819 Democratic; 1 Constitution; 1 Libertarian) was certified as 'SCATTERING' with no candidate meeting the threshold to be named, and the canvass's own certification page lists 'SCATTERING' (not a person) as the highest vote-getter on the Democratic line, per the same certified canvass. Todd J. Delain has served as Brown County Sheriff since January 2019, after a law enforcement career that began as a U.S. Army counter-intelligence special agent in 1990 and continued at the Brown County Sheriff's Office starting in 1996 across the jail, patrol and drug task force divisions, per the sheriff's office's official page. He holds a master's degree in management and organizational behavior, is an FBI National Academy graduate, and coordinates the county's Child Abduction Response Team. No campaign website or questionnaire response was found as of September 7, 2026.
