No candidate reached a majority in the June 16 Republican primary (Troy Talley 47.48 percent, Rusty Rains (35.82 percent), Amber Canary (16.7 percent)); Troy Talley won the August 25 runoff with 58.98 percent over Rusty Rains. Megan Hornbeek Allen won the June 16 Democratic primary with 61.94 percent over Jason Lankford (38.06 percent).
