Cole is the Mason County Sheriff, elected in 2012 after 40 years with the Mason County Sheriff's Office, according to the Oceana County Press. Cole is a fifth-generation Mason County resident whose great-great-grandfather also served as county sheriff. Cole is running for the open 32nd Senate District seat.
