Rich Gibson has served as Howard County State's Attorney since being elected in 2018, according to the office's official website. He previously spent years as a prosecutor in Prince George's County and Baltimore City, holds a Juris Doctorate from Howard University School of Law, and was named 2016 Prosecutor of the Year by the Mid-Atlantic Regional Gang Investigation Network, per his campaign site. He ran unopposed in the 2026 Democratic primary.
