Minnix is a fourth-generation Scott County farmer who farms 6,600 acres in Scott and Wichita Counties and holds a BS in agricultural economics, a BS in business finance and an MBA from Kansas State University, per the campaign site. Minnix served 26 years as a Scott County Commissioner, including as president of the Kansas County Commissioner Association, and the site says Minnix was elected to the Kansas House in 2020 and chairs the House Water Committee, per the campaign site.
