Incumbent Democrat Michael Price won renomination in a June 16, 2026 primary runoff over Phedra Thomas, 1,499 votes (51.0%) to 1,443 (49.0%), after neither candidate won a majority in the three-way May 19 primary (Price 3,527, Thomas 3,164, Lonnie Wilson 1,071), per county primary and runoff election results. No Republican or other-party candidate qualified, so Price is unopposed on the November 3, 2026 general election ballot.
Michael Price spent 12 years with the Henry County Department of Transportation and has served more than 20 years as senior pastor of Historic Shoal Creek Baptist Church, per his campaign site.
