About the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court
The Eleventh Judicial Circuit serves Miami-Dade County. It is the largest circuit in Florida and the fourth largest trial court in the nation, per the court. The court lists criminal cases, divorce, paternity, child support, estates, mental health, mortgage foreclosure, landlord and tenant disputes and small claims among the cases it hears.
The court has 123 circuit and county court judges, 80 of them circuit judges, serving more than two million people in a 2,000-square-mile area, and it disposes of about 800,000 cases a year including civil traffic infractions, per the court. Every Miami-Dade County voter votes on this seat, in a nonpartisan election.
