About this measure
Wisconsin has no statewide citizen initiative or veto referendum of any kind, so voters cannot petition questions onto the statewide ballot. Statewide measures come only from the Legislature: a constitutional amendment must pass both chambers in two successive legislative sessions before going to voters, who ratify it with a simple majority. That is why every 2026 Wisconsin measure is a legislative referral.
Wording above follows the certified ballot language; The Ballot Brief does not take positions on measures.
