Biography
Zach Vance is a 39-year-old medically retired Marine and Purple Heart recipient who earned an associate's degree from the University of North Texas. A former cable news employee, Vance is a husband and father of two sons. He is seeking the Democratic nomination for Governor of Texas in 2026, having previously run for Lieutenant Governor as a Republican in 2022 and for Texas House of Representatives in 2024.
Top Priorities
- Property tax reform, including reappraisals every decade and eliminating most property taxes for residents 65 and older.
- Increasing public education funding, raising teacher pay, lowering classroom sizes, and opposing school voucher programs.
