YAN XIONG

Yan Xiong is a Chinese-American human rights activist, former U.S. Army chaplain, and Tiananmen Square dissident, running as a Democrat for New York's 6th Congressional District in the 2026 election. A former leader during the Tiananmen Square protests, Xiong was imprisoned before fleeing to the U.S., where he later joined the U.S. Army and served as a Chaplain in Iraq. He holds multiple degrees and is an author.
