Tonya Hudson has been a real estate broker in southern Indiana for 21 years, after five years working as an aide in the nurse's office at Brown County High School, according to the campaign site. Hudson served as president of the Bedford Board of Realtors in 2013 and was elected vice chair of the Libertarian Party of Indiana in 2023 before stepping down in 2024 to run for lieutenant governor as Donald Rainwater's running mate, per the same source. The Libertarian Party of Indiana nominated Hudson as its candidate for the 9th Congressional District at its March 2026 convention, according to WISH-TV.
