He decided to run for the seat the night before Kentucky's 2026 filing deadline for legislative candidates, after a Kentucky lawmaker proposed barring naturalized immigrant citizens from holding local and state office, according to the Kentucky Lantern. He is the father of fellow Kentucky House member Nima Kulkarni. No campaign website or questionnaire response was found as of September 8, 2026.
