Sonya Harper

Representative Sonya Harper serves Illinois' 6th House District, a position she has held since 2015. A lifelong journalist, community organizer, and advocate for equitable economic development, Harper chairs the Agriculture & Conservation Committee in the Illinois House, where she has worked to expand the state's understanding of agriculture to include urban farming and local food systems. Her legislative work also focuses on expanding access to healthy food and improving public health.
