Biography
Shelley Capito is a Republican who serves as the senior United States Senator from West Virginia, first elected in 2014 and re-elected in 2020. She previously represented West Virginia's 2nd Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2001 to 2014. As a senator, she holds leadership roles including Ranking Member of the Environment and Public Works Committee and Vice Chairman of the Senate Republican Conference.
