Biography
Shameka L. Parrish-Wright is a Louisville Metro Councilwoman representing District 3, having assumed office in January 2024. A prominent community leader and activist during the 2020 racial justice protests, Parrish-Wright is currently running as a nonpartisan candidate for Mayor of Louisville in the May 2026 primary. She previously served as the Executive Director of VOCAL-KY, an advocacy group focused on homelessness, drug policy, incarceration, and HIV/AIDS.
