Scott Mitchell

Scott Mitchell has served as a Duval County Court Judge for eight years, having been appointed in January 2012 after being nominated by the circuit's Judicial Nominating Commission. He graduated from Florida State University School of Law in 1982 and served four years in the State Attorney's Office in Jacksonville. Prior to his judicial appointment, Mitchell practiced law in the private sector from 1986 to 2012, including partnerships with Coxe & Mitchell and Lester & Mitchell, P.A. As a judge, he has presided over numerous jury and non-jury trials.
