Biography
Roy Cooper is a Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate in North Carolina in 2026. He previously served as Governor of North Carolina from 2017 to 2025, Attorney General from 2001 to 2017, and as a state legislator from 1987 to 2001. Born in Nash County, NC, he is a public school graduate who worked on his family farm and earned his B.A. and J.D. from UNC-Chapel Hill.
