Robert Salter

Robert Salter is a 7th-generation Texan with deep roots in Milam County, where his family has resided since 1886. A Blue Dog Democrat, he is not a career politician, having spent 30 years in industrial gases, including managing plants globally and overseeing systems in Qatar and China. Salter, who started as an apprentice pipefitter after graduating from Rockdale High School, ran for election to the Texas House of Representatives to represent District 17.
