A 44-year educator and 2024 Oklahoma Educators Hall of Fame inductee who served as a special education teacher, principal, and Tulsa Tech associate superintendent, and who now teaches future administrators at OU-Tulsa, his campaign slogan is 44 years in education, not one day in politics. He won the August 25 Republican runoff with 197,019 votes to James Taylor's 163,612, taking 54.63 percent; results are unofficial until the state certifies September 1.
