Richard King is on the Vermont Secretary of State's general election candidate list (updated Aug. 27, 2026) as the Republican candidate for Windsor County Sheriff on the November 3, 2026 ballot. Richard King, of Springfield, is a lieutenant with the Windsor County Sheriff's Department who has spent more than 24 of his 36 years in law enforcement there, per the White River Valley Herald. He is the Republican nominee for Windsor County sheriff, facing Democratic nominee Claude Weyant in November.
