Biography
Richard Durbin is a Democratic politician who has served as the senior U.S. Senator from Illinois since 1997. He currently holds the position of Senate Democratic Whip, the second-highest ranking Democratic member in the U.S. Senate. Prior to his Senate service, Durbin represented Illinois's 20th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1983 to 1996.
