Biography
Raymond Edward Dr. Jr. Smith is a former two-term Democratic member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, representing the 21st district from 2019 to 2023. A decorated U.S. Army combat veteran and former educator, he previously served on the Wayne County Board of Education. Smith is the Democratic nominee for the U.S. House from North Carolina's 3rd congressional district in the 2026 election.
