Biography
Ram Villivalam is a Democratic member of the Illinois State Senate, representing District 8 since January 9, 2019. He was the first Asian American elected to the Illinois State Senate and the first Indian American elected to the Illinois General Assembly. Prior to his election, Villivalam worked as a legislative coordinator for SEIU Healthcare, advocating for home care, child care, and Medicaid, and also served as an Outreach Director for U.S. Congressman Brad Schneider.
