Biography
Raja Krishnamoorthi, born July 19, 1973, is an American attorney and Democratic politician serving as the U.S. representative for Illinois's 8th congressional district since 2017. He previously served as a special assistant attorney general and deputy state treasurer for Illinois, and is the first Indian American to serve as a ranking member or chair of a full committee in the U.S. Congress.
