Biography
Maria Peterson is a former attorney and community leader who has advocated for working families, serving on local boards such as the Lake County Zoning Board of Appeals. A first-generation Mexican American, she has been involved in community service, including as State Elections Lead for Moms Demand Action. Peterson recently ran for Illinois House District 52 in 2024, focusing on lowering costs for families and strengthening public education.
