Biography
Ofelia Maldonado Zapata is a seasoned community leader and advocate with decades of experience in grassroots organizing and public policy engagement. She served as a District 2 Trustee for the Austin Independent School District from 2020 to 2024 and was a Travis Central Appraisal District Board Member from 2009 to 2015. Maldonado Zapata is also a co-founder of the City of Austin and Travis County Summer Youth Employment and Capital Idea Adult Job Training programs.
