Biography
Nick Sortal, the current Mayor of Plantation, was elected in 2022 and has served as an elected official in Plantation for eight years, including a term on the City Council from 2018 to 2022. Before entering public service, Sortal had a 35-year career as a journalist, primarily with the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. As Mayor, he has focused on making Plantation more affordable, safer, and more responsive to residents' needs.
