NELIDA POU

Nelida Pou was born and raised in Paterson, New Jersey, where she attended public schools and Kean University. She began her career in public service with the City of Paterson, later making history as the first Latina elected to represent the 35th Legislative District in the State Assembly in 1997. In 2012, Pou was elected to the New Jersey State Senate, serving in leadership roles, and is currently running for U.S. House (NJ)- District 9.
