Beale is a Midland native who was appointed judge of the 42nd Circuit Court in 2007; he previously practiced law with Handlon, Eastman, DeWitt & Beale and served as a judicial law clerk for the Michigan Supreme Court from 1990 to 1992, per the governor's office announcement of his appointment.
