Meda DeWitt

Meda DeWitt

I · Alaska · 2026

Meda DeWitt is an independent candidate for Alaska governor, a community organizer, and an Alaska Native health and public-service advocate. Her campaign emphasizes Indigenous communities, public health, food security, education, and a state government more responsive to everyday Alaskans. She drew 3,264 votes in the August 18 top-four primary in the unofficial count with 378 of 403 precincts reporting. Alaska counts absentee and questioned ballots for roughly two weeks, so the four candidates who advance to the November 3 ranked-choice general are not final until the state certifies.
