Biography
Mazie Hirono is a Democratic politician who has served as a U.S. Senator for Hawaii since 2013. She previously represented Hawaii's 2nd congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2007 to 2013 and was Hawaii's Lieutenant Governor from 1994 to 2002. Hirono is noted as the first Asian American woman and first woman to serve as a U.S. Senator from Hawaii.
