Biography
Mary Waters, a Democrat, is an at-large member of the Detroit City Council and a former three-term State Representative in the Michigan House, where she was the first Black woman to serve as Democratic Floor Leader. A University of Michigan graduate and breast cancer survivor, Waters is currently running for the U.S. House of Representatives in Michigan's 13th Congressional District.
