Biography
Mark Robert Warner, born December 15, 1954, is the senior U.S. Senator from Virginia, serving since 2009. A former Governor of Virginia and state Democratic Party chair, he is also a tech entrepreneur who co-founded Nextel. During his tenure as Governor, he addressed a significant budget shortfall and implemented bipartisan reforms in education and broadband expansion.
