Biography
Maria Elvira Salazar is an American journalist and Republican politician currently serving as the U.S. Representative for Florida's 27th congressional district since 2021. Before entering politics, she had a three-decade career as a television journalist and news anchor for various Spanish-language networks, including Telemundo, CNN EspaƱol, and Univision. Salazar, who holds degrees from the University of Miami and Harvard University, has been re-elected multiple times to her congressional seat.
