Lydia Elizondo is an attorney who began her legal career at the Hidalgo County District Attorney's Office and later ran her own private practice, per the campaign site. She spent seven years with the Indigent Defense Program and was elected Director of District 12 on the State Bar of Texas Board of Directors, representing attorneys across 17 South Texas counties, per the campaign site. She is a certified Texas secondary English teacher and a graduate of St. Mary's University School of Law, per the campaign site.
