Biography
Lauren Underwood is a Democratic U.S. Representative for Illinois’ 14th Congressional District, first elected in 2018. A registered nurse and public health expert, she was the first person of color, first woman, and first millennial to represent her district, and the youngest Black woman to serve in Congress upon her swearing-in. She currently serves on the House Committee on Appropriations and as Co-Chair of the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee.
