Biography
Laura Taddeucci Downs is an Independent politician serving on the Falls Church City Council in Virginia, where she was first elected in a special election in November 2024 and later reelected for a four-year term. She also served on the Falls Church City School Board from 2019, including terms as Vice Chair and Chair, during which she helped navigate the COVID-19 pandemic and oversaw the construction of Meridian High School. Downs is one of only six residents in Falls Church City to have been elected to both the School Board and the City Council, and the only woman to achieve this.
