Biography
Kshama Sawant, born in India in 1973, holds a B.S. in computer science and a Ph.D. in economics. She previously served on the Seattle City Council from 2014 to 2023 and worked as an economics teacher. Sawant is currently running as an Independent for election to the U.S. House to represent Washington's 9th Congressional District in 2026.
