Biography
Kelly Cassidy is an American politician from Chicago, a Democrat and a member of the Illinois House of Representatives for the 14th district since May 2011. An openly lesbian legislator, she has championed issues like reproductive rights and criminal justice reform, and was the chief sponsor of House Bill 1438, which legalized adult-use cannabis in Illinois. She has also worked as a legislative director for the Chicago chapter of the National Organization for Women and in the Cook County state's attorney's office.
