Biography
Joseph Patrick Cooney is a Democratic candidate for Congress, a former federal prosecutor who served nearly 18 years at the Department of Justice, including as a member of Jack Smith’s Special Counsel’s Office. He was raised in Arlington, Virginia, and is an alumnus of the University of Notre Dame and UVA Law School. Cooney is known for prosecuting corruption cases and currently runs a small law practice.
