Biography
John Thune, a Republican, grew up in Murdo, South Dakota. He served three terms in the U.S. House of Representatives before being elected to the U.S. Senate in 2004, where he has since been re-elected multiple times. Currently, Senator Thune serves as Senate Majority Leader and is a member of the Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry; Commerce, Science, and Transportation; and Finance Committees.
