Biography
James W. Byrd is a Democratic candidate for the 2026 Wyoming Senate. He previously served as a member of the Wyoming House of Representatives, representing the 44th district from 2009 to 2019. A native Wyoming politician, Byrd's mother, Harriet Elizabeth Byrd, was the first African-American to serve in the Wyoming State Legislature.
