Biography
James Lankford is a Republican who currently serves as a U.S. Senator for Oklahoma, a position he was first elected to in 2014. Prior to his time in the Senate, Lankford represented Oklahoma's 5th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2011 to 2014. Before entering politics, he spent over 20 years in ministry, including 15 years as the Director of Student Ministry for the Baptist Convention of Oklahoma and Director of the Falls Creek Youth Camp.
