Biography
James E III Trainor is an American Republican lawyer and government official. He served as a Commissioner of the Federal Election Commission (FEC) from 2020 to 2025, including terms as chair in 2020 and 2025. Trainor, who has practiced election law, campaign finance, and ethics for two decades, was also a candidate for Texas's 21st congressional district in the 2026 Republican primary.
