Biography
Hakeem Jeffries represents New York's Eighth Congressional District and is serving his seventh term in the United States Congress. He was unanimously elected House Democratic Leader by his colleagues in 2022 and 2024, making him the highest-ranking Democrat in the House of Representatives. He is also the first person of color to lead a major party in the United States Congress.
