Biography
Greg Abbott, a Republican, is the current Governor of Texas, first elected in 2014 and re-elected for a third term in 2022. Born in Wichita Falls, Texas, he earned degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and Vanderbilt University Law School. Prior to becoming governor, Abbott served as Texas Attorney General, a Justice on the Texas Supreme Court, and a State District Judge.
