GENE PAUL SCHARER

Gene Paul Scharer, a Democratic candidate, was born on February 14, 1947, in Mount Clemens, Michigan. He earned a B.A. from the University of Michigan in 1969 and served in the United States Army before a career as a teacher in various school districts, including Glendale Union High School District. Scharer has run for the United States House of Representatives multiple times in Arizona's 2nd, 3rd, and 8th Congressional Districts.
