Biography
Eric Sorensen was born and raised in Rockford, Illinois, and served as a local TV meteorologist for over two decades. He is a Democratic U.S. Representative for Illinois' 17th Congressional District since 2023, and the first openly gay member of Congress from Illinois. In Congress, Sorensen focuses on lowering costs for working families, creating sustainable jobs, and supporting family farms and rural communities.
