Biography
Edward Sen. Markey, born July 11, 1946, in Malden, Massachusetts, is a Democratic U.S. Senator representing Massachusetts, a position he has held since 2013. Prior to his Senate service, he served 37 years in the U.S. House of Representatives and earlier in the Massachusetts House. He secured his Senate seat in a 2013 special election and won full terms in 2014 and 2020.
